Pai Gow Poker is a current game with ancient origins. Built on the ancient Chinese domino game and the current American variation of poker, Pai Gow poker combines the far east with the western in an excellent game for beginner level gamblers.

Pai Gow is a poker game that puts the player versus the dealer, not like nearly all other poker games that gamblers wager against other gamblers. By wagering against the dealer, starting players don’t have to be concerned about other, more advanced people winning their money.

An additional Pai Gow edge is the generally slow game pace, newcomers can take their time and plan without having to make quick decisions.

It’s also much simpler to gamble on for a long time with basically a small bit of cash seeing as, to not win, each of your hands needs to be under both of the dealer’s hands.

Pai Gow is played with 53 cards; the familiar 52-card basic deck and one joker. The player is assigned 7 cards faces showing and the casino is dealt 7 cards faces hidden.

One five card hand and one 2 card hand have to be made from the seven cards, the 5 card hand must be higher than the two card hand. To succeed, a player needs both of his hand values to be higher than the dealer’s.
