Online poker has become globally celebrated recently, with televised competitions and celebrity poker game shows. The games popularity, though, stretches back in reality a bit farther than its television ratings. Over the years many variants on the original poker game have been created, including some games that are not quite poker anymore. Caribbean stud poker is 1 of these games. Regardless of the name, Caribbean stud poker is most closely affiliated with chemin de fer than long-standing poker, in that the players wager against the bank rather than the other players. The succeeding hands, are the traditional poker hands. There is little bluffing or other types of deceptiveness. In Caribbean stud poker, you are expected to ante up prior to the croupier announcing "No further wagers." At that point, both you and the dealer and of course every one of the other players receive 5 cards each. Once you have seen your hand and the casino’s 1st card, you must in turn make a call bet or give up. The call bet’s value is equal to your beginning wager, meaning that the risks will have increased two fold. Surrendering means that your ante goes immediately to the casino. After the bet is the conclusion. If the house does not have ace/king or better, your wager is given back, including an amount in accordance with the initial wager. If the dealer has a hand with ace/king or greater, you win if your hand defeats the dealer’s hand. The casino pays chips even with your bet and controlled expectations on your call wager. These expectations are:
- Equal for a pair or high card
- 2-1 for 2 pairs
- 3-1 for three of a kind
- 4-1 for a straight
- five to one for a flush
- seven to one for a full house
- twenty to one for a four of a kind
- 50-1 for a straight flush
- one hundred to one for a royal flush
